Alexander Atkins is an associate in Elias Law Group’s Litigation practice. He represents pro-democracy clients and helps to advance voting rights litigation at both the trial and appellate levels. 

Prior to joining ELG, Alexander spent over four years as a litigator at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison in New York City. At Paul Weiss, Mr. Atkins had a diverse practice, including pharmaceutical patent litigation, art law, and successfully litigating a major, multiyear Voting Rights Act case, Flores v. Islip (E.D.N.Y. 2020). His legal background also includes work on behalf of incarcerated individuals at the Innocence Project and in the criminal division of The Bronx Defenders. 

While in law school, Alexander pursued pro bono and public interest work and served as an Executive Articles Editor of The Georgetown Law Journal. He was the founding president of Georgetown Law Students for Democratic Reform and testified before a subcommittee of Congress regarding student political activity on university campuses. Alexander was a judicial intern for The Honorable Ketanji Brown Jackson in 2015. 

Mr. Atkins received his J.D., magna cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center and his B.F.A in Film, magna cum laude, from SUNY Purchase College. He is based out of ELG’s Washington, D.C. office.
