Daniel Osher is an associate in the Litigation practice group. He litigates constitutional and Voting Rights Act challenges to discriminatory and restrictive voting laws and districting plans.  

Dan represents voters, nonprofit organizations, and political committees. Prior to ELG, Dan played a significant role in recent litigation that prompted Mississippi to remove provisions of its constitution enacted to prevent minority voters from electing their preferred candidates in statewide elections. During the 2020 election cycle, Dan litigated several cases in which he sought to expand voters’ access to the ballot and defend against efforts to overturn the presidential election. He also represented several members of Congress in successfully defeating challenges to their electoral victories. 

Dan is a graduate of Northwestern University and University of Michigan Law School. He served as a law clerk to the Hon. Gonzalo P. Curiel of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California, the Hon. Ronald M. Gould of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the Hon. Michael P. Shea of the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut.
