Henry “Hal” Brewster is an associate in the Litigation practice group. He litigates political law, election matters, and constitutional issues.
Mr. Brewster has been a part of teams that have tried more than a dozen cases to judgment or verdict in state and federal courthouses across the country, including successfully defending against several attempts to overthrow the results of the 2020 election. He represents individual voters, candidates, political party committees, political action committees, corporations, and nonprofit organizations.
Prior to his law career, Mr. Brewster spent four years as an active-duty U.S. Army officer. As a scout and sniper platoon leader, he led 40 specialized soldiers in more than 150 combat missions in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He is the recipient of the Bronze Star medal for service.
Mr. Brewster received his B.S. from Georgetown University, his M.P.A. from Princeton University, and his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. Following his time in the army, he published five articles in The New York Times blog, “At War,” about his experiences in Iraq.
