Ms. Madduri is a Partner in Elias Law Group’s Litigation Practice. Lalitha has expertise in redistricting, voting rights, and election-related litigation.

Ms. Madduri has litigated before numerous state and federal courts across the country, including the U.S. Supreme Court. Often proceeding on accelerated timelines, Ms. Madduri has obtained successful results for clients in numerous high-stakes matters. Immediately following the 2020 election, Ms. Madduri represented the Democratic Party in preventing the Trump campaign’s attempts to overturn the presidential election results. Ms. Madduri played key roles in obtaining pro-democracy victories at the U.S. Supreme Court in 2023 in Allen v. Milligan (preserving Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act) and Moore v. Harper (defeating a fringe right-wing legal theory that could have upended federal elections). Ms. Madduri regularly represents voters and progressive organizations across the country seeking to protect the right to vote and eliminate barriers to the political process.  

Prior to joining Elias Law Group, Ms. Madduri was an Associate at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP and Perkins Coie LLP. In 2018, she led policy efforts for Congressman Colin Allred’s successful campaign in Texas’s 32nd Congressional District. Prior to law school, Ms. Madduri worked as an analyst at the Clinton Health Access Initiative in New Delhi, India, where she focused on monitoring and evaluation of HIV/AIDS programs and developing and implementing new malnutrition initiatives across India.

Ms. Madduri is a graduate of UCLA. While earning her J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law, she was a law clerk at the California Department of Justice, supporting the Office of the California Attorney General. Ms. Madduri is a member of the California and District of Columbia bars.
