William “Liam” Hancock is an associate in the Litigation practice group. He and his fellow attorneys represent pro-democracy clients across the country in cases to safeguard voting rights and promote fair elections.

Prior to Elias Law Group, Liam worked as an associate at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP in New York. There he worked primarily on litigation under Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act—successfully replacing an at-large town council map with representative districts. See Flores v. Town of Islip, No. 18-CV-3549 (E.D.N.Y Oct. 14, 2020). In addition to his legal work, he has experience in field organizing and get-out-the-vote efforts through his prior work at NextGen Climate—which has since been relaunched as NextGen America. He now works out of Elias Law Group’s Washington, D.C. office.

Liam is a graduate of the University of Iowa, where he received his bachelor’s degree in economics and political science, as well as Columbia Law School. He is admitted in the state of New York and Washington, D.C.
