Lindsay McAleer is labor and employment counsel at Elias Law Group. She focuses her practice on counseling clients on the full spectrum of employment law matters, with an emphasis on the unique employment issues facing progressive nonprofit organizations, political action committees, and federal and nonfederal Democratic campaigns. This includes providing trainings and advice to clients on wage-and-hour law compliance, workplace harassment and discrimination, disability accommodation issues, and employee performance management, among other areas. She regularly prepares employment policies and handbooks, offer letters, employment contracts, and other employment documents for clients. She also has experience defending complex wage-and-hour class action cases and claims brought under state and federal employment laws, in addition to managing internal investigations and practicing voting rights litigation.

Prior to Elias Law Group, Ms. McAleer worked as a Labor & Employment Associate at Perkins Coie LLP. In law school, she clerked at Columbia Legal Services in Seattle supporting clients who were institutionalized and was a student attorney in the civil rights practice of Georgetown’s Institute for Public Representation. Before becoming an attorney, she taught fifth and sixth grade and coached middle school girls’ basketball in Phoenix, Arizona.

Ms. McAleer received her Bachelor of Science from Cornell University, her Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Elementary Education from Arizona State University, and her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. Ms. McAleer works out of ELG’s Seattle office.
