Jon Berkon Named Political Law Chair at Elias Law Group

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Elias Law Group is pleased to announce that Jon Berkon is assuming the role of Political Law Chair today, January 1, 2026.

Berkon succeeds Ezra Reese, who served as the firm's first-ever Political Law Chair since Elias Law Group's founding in 2021 and will continue serving clients as a Partner in the Political Law practice group.

"I am deeply grateful to Ezra Reese for his leadership in shaping the Political Law Group as ELG's first-ever Political Law Chair," said Firm Chair Marc Elias. "As a former Political Law Chair myself, I understand and appreciate the significant commitment Ezra made in serving in this vital role over the past four years. Jon brings deep expertise in state and local election law and has earned the trust of Democratic and progressive organizations across the nation. I am confident he will build on Ezra's excellent work as he assumes this important leadership position."

"It has been an honor to serve as Elias Law Group’s first Political Law Chair and to help build this practice alongside such talented colleagues," said Ezra Reese. "Jon is the ideal person to lead the Political Law Group forward. His aggressive, strategic approach and his strong relationships with clients across the country make him exceptionally well-suited for this role.”

"I am grateful for the opportunity to lead Elias Law Group’s Political Law Group and to build on the strong foundation Ezra has established," said Jon Berkon. "As we head into a crucial election year, the Political Law Group is laser-focused on helping Democrats win, citizens vote, and progressives make change, and I look forward to continuing that mission in this new capacity."
